CHURCH groups have reacted angrily to claims by a Fremantle councillor that people in need shouldn’t have to go to religious groups for help. Sam Wainwright had said outsourcing of aged care, women’s refuges and mental health to church-run groups was a return to “Dickensian” times.

Lead Tests ‘Inadequate’

FREMANTLE councillor and wharfie Sam Wainwright says the port’s response to high lead levels aren’t good enough. Lead monitoring at one of three sites at north wharf increased from base line 110 to 120 in October and 190 in November before blowing out to a whopping 4600 in December.
