BREWING giant Fosters is looking to move its WA HQ into the old Matilda Bay Brewery in North Fremantle, where executives can enjoy sweeping ocean views. The conglomerate closed brewing operations at the formerly independent Stirling Highway property several years ago.

Woolies Kills Iconic Freo Brewery

FREMANTLE’S Sail and Anchor is set to become just another pretty pub with owner Woolworths pulling the pin on its brewing operations. From May famous local labels such as Redback and Dogbolter will be brewed off-site.

Lead Tests ‘Inadequate’

FREMANTLE councillor and wharfie Sam Wainwright says the port’s response to high lead levels aren’t good enough. Lead monitoring at one of three sites at north wharf increased from base line 110 to 120 in October and 190 in November before blowing out to a whopping 4600 in December.

Dock Afloat

A WORLD-first $60 million floating dock at the Australian Marine Complex in Henderson was launched Tuesday. The 99-metre by 53m-long dock  which can lift vessels weighing up to 12,000 tonnes, is part of a four-year, $170 million upgrade to the AMC.
